I posted this in my LiveJournal, so I'm copy-pasting it here.
"SheezyArt is no longer allowing Adult art work. No more porn. Looks like it's time to abandon my account there.
Although I rarely draw any adult art, the reason I loved Sheezyart was because I had the freedom to post it If I wanted to. It didn't bother me that people under 18 wern't allowed to look at it. But now that it's not allowed at all, where AM I gonna post it on the rare occasion that I do draw it?
Hell, they can't even decide if that picture of Lilith I drew is considered Mature or Adult. I got warnings as one mod changed it from adult to mature, than another one when another mod yelled at me for having it marked as mature and changed it to adult.
How am I supposed to know the difference between tasteful nudity and porn? If she's got nips and lips is it porn, even if she's not doing anything with them? Is it porn if she has a sexy look on her face? All she's doing in that picture is looking at you with her see-through nightgown on, and they can't decide if it's porn or not. You see more titty and pussy than that when you're BORN. To me it looks like classy, tasteful nudity. Is it really obscene and dirty?
To me, the line between porn and not porn is blured and out of focus. And is porn art? You bet it is. Porn can be beautiful and powerful. It can also be offensive and degrading. Non-porn can also be offensive and degrading. What's the difference between a picture of someone being raped and someone being beaten? What's the difference betwen a picture of two people passionatly kissing and two people making love? Why are female nipples porn while male nipples aren't?
I know the differences, but I don't agree with them. I'm not a prude.
I understand that the reason SheezyArt is banning Adult art is because they don't have a choice, but i'm still going to quit. I joined because of the freedom, and I'm leaving because it's not there anymore. I can use my own webspace if I want to host normal art. I just wish less websites would turn "family friendly" right after I start getting comfortable with them."
